Reading at night while laying in bed is a favorite pastime for many people, but what they are not thinking about, is that the poor lighting situation they are in could be causing severe damage to their eyes. Low lighting conditions cause your eyes to lose focus on the pages, which often times means that you end up with headaches the next day, and get uncomfortable while you are reading. Having a lamp on your headboard can alleviate these symptoms. Through key placement of a headboard lamp, you can read into the night, without having to worry about getting a headache in the morning.
If you do think you could benefit from adding a headboard reading lamp, you will be happy to know that it doesn’t matter what style bedroom suit you may currently have, manufacturers have made sure that their designs suit all tastes and decor. Previously, unless you wanted to pay substantially more, you were typically stuck with a plain black or white lamp, with a bright white incandescent bulb. With newer technology though, stylish designs have become much more affordable, and the addition of LED light bulbs helps you to avoid the heat, and discomfort produced by incandescent lights.
You also do not have to worry about the mounting options that were included on older style headboard lamps. The older style lights would use a harsh pinching method, with stiff rubber feet to attach the lamp to your headboard. Over time, this harsh pinching action would actually cause damage to your headboard. However, on newer models, manufacturers have included softer clamps that do not damage the wood or soft metals on your headboard, but are still strong enough to hold the lamp.
Being able to move the light into the perfect position is one of the main reasons you should consider purchasing a headboard lamp. If you haven’t already, think about how often you feel the symptoms associated with poor lighting conditions, and then imagine a situation where you were not tossing, and turning, or dealing with eye strain and headaches. The decision should be fairly clear at that point. From here, all you have to do is find a lamp that matches your bedroom suit, and do away with your old lighting. Your nights of reading do not have to be plagued with discomfort, especially when you purchase an adjustable headboard lamp.
